Our Company
Formed in 1953, Hopper Developments is a privately owned land development company based in Orewa, just north of Auckland. Leigh Hopper is managing director and chief executive of the company. While primarily a land development company, Hopper Developments has in recent years diversified into property development, housing construction, retirement village development and civil construction. The company is perhaps best known for its expertise in creating coastal lifestyle developments. All projects undertaken by Hopper companies follow a set of common principles which entail detailed planning and innovation. The outcome results in developments of sound construction, high amenity value and protection of the natural environment.

Leigh Hopper
As the principal shareholder and managing director of Hopper Developments, Leigh is responsible for the day-to-day running of the company and the strategic planning and direction of the organisation. Leigh possesses an incredible talent for creating a master plan vision for all of the developments the company is involved with. Leigh leads a team of very experienced property development professionals and consulting planners and engineers. As a result Hoppers has maintained a high level of construction quality and amenity value throughout the projects that the company undertakes. Leigh continues to look for opportunities to provide unequalled residential, marine and retirement living experiences for those who enjoy the New Zealand outdoors and marine environment. Leigh maintains strong family values and is a well-respected leader within the organisations and communities that he is involved with.

Howard Jury - Project Director
Howard is a director and a project manager across a multitude of projects including Marsden Cove, Whitianga Waterways, Paunaui Waterways, Elan Developments, Maygrove Village and others. Howard started with Hoppers in 1979 and has extensive experience in managing projects, implementing strategic directives and leading others. Howard has been a member of the Whangaparoa Rotary Club since 1988 and the President in 1995/1996. A former trustee and chairman of the Hibiscus Coast Hospice and a member of the property council. Howard is married to Jeanne, has 4 sons and 4 Grand Daughters.
Evans Young - Project Director
Evans is a director and is involved with business development and new projects. Evans has been with Hoppers since 1991 and has a vast experience in project management, planning and consenting of major developments including, Pauanui Waterways, Whitianga Waterways, Hardy Martin Estate (Cooks Beach), Marsden Cove and Vulani Island Resort (Fiji). Evans has been more recently involved with Infrasol, the infrastructure and financing arm of Hoppers.
Tim Brooks CA - Director Finance
Tim has been involved in the property Industry for 30 years. Fifteen years as financial controller/director finance with Hopper Developments. He has extensive knowledge of the key revenue and cost drivers of the industry and their interactions to ensure successful development is undertaken. Tim is a member of NZICA, and a committee member of the Company Accountants SIG. He is a past president of the Whangaparoa Rotary Club and has been a school board trustee member and a trustee of the Hibiscus Coast Hospice. He has strong family interests and enjoys sports both as a participant and a spectator.
